SML Regional Chamber Cancels March Events
SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, VA – The Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce today announced the postponement of several upcoming events amid concerns related to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In an email to Chamber members, Executive Director Christopher Finley said: “Earlier today, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. In accordance with the Governor’s guidance, the Smith Mountain Lake Chamber of Commerce has opted to postpone scheduled events through the end of March out of an abundance of caution for our membership and community.”
The following events will be rescheduled:

- March 19 hosted by Cora Physical Therapy

- March 25 at The Franklin Center
SML Connects Networking Event
- March 26 at Mama Ann’s Gifts & Goodies
Finley urged members to continue to practice the health practices that have been communicated on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 website and to consult the CDC’s frequently asked questions and the Virginia Department of Health website for the most up-to-date information.
“As our community contends with the increasing impact of COVID-19, we remain committed to taking action based on guidance from public health experts and provide updates accordingly,” Finley said.
