Danny Lee Fariss

May 23, 1952 — September 20, 2026

Danny L. Fariss, age 74 of Ferrum affectionately known as “Snowman,” a beloved husband, father, Pawpaw and friend passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Danny was a hardworking man who spent many years driving trucks before retiring to work driving tow motors. He took great pride in working hard and providing for his family. In his later years, one of his greatest joys was spending time on his tractor, where he could relax, enjoy the outdoors, and do what he loved.

Above all, Danny treasured his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Corlis Boitnott, and a loving father and Pawpaw. He is survived by his wife, Corlis; his brother-in-law, Edgar Vernon Gibson; his children, James “Mitch” Boitnott, married to Kayla Boitnott, and Jeremiah Boitnott, married to Katie Boitnott; and his nine grandchildren, who brought him endless love and joy.

Danny’s family will forever cherish the memories they made with him—the stories, laughter, hard work, time spent together, and all the little moments that made him who he was.

Though he is no longer with us, Danny’s love and memory will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. His legacy will continue in the lives of those he loved and the many people whose lives he touched.

Rest peacefully, Snowman. You will be loved and missed always.

Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
