Rocky Mount

In Loving Memory of Michael Anthony “Tony” Hall

Michael Anthony “Tony” Hall, 60, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and went to be with our Lord.

Tony was born on September 3, 1966, and grew up in Franklin County. He later made his home in Boones Mill, Virginia.

Tony was the son of Bonnie Walston and husband Mike, and brother to Jeffrey Hall. He was a loving father to his daughter, Taylor Hall, and a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Melia, Emberly, and Easton.

He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, including Emily Kendrick and her husband, Darrell Kendrick, and their daughters, Christy Gauldin and Brandy Gauldin; Brenda Kendrick and Jerry, and their children, Jennifer Kendrick, Jason Kendrick, and Kaleigh Kendrick; and Kenneth Perdue and his wife, Pamela Perdue, and their children, LaShara Perdue and Kenneth Dwayne Perdue.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandfather, Carey Winston “Bob” Perdue; his grandmother, Vernell Louise Perdue; and his uncle, Richard Wayne Perdue.

Tony was a quiet and somewhat secluded man who truly enjoyed his alone time. He was also known for his sense of humor, his love of joking and laughing, and his distinctive laugh and big smile that could be recognized by anyone who knew him.

Tony was a very hard-working man who took pride in providing for his family. He loved selling cars and had a lifelong love for rock music. He also loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, watching movies, and relaxing in his recliner after work or on a day off.

Some of his favorite memories were made with his grandchildren. Tony was an amazing grandfather who always made sure his grandchildren knew they were loved and taken care of, no matter what. He loved taking them to play putt-putt and spending time with them. He also treasured lunch dates with his daughter, Taylor.

In his younger years, Tony enjoyed concert hopping with his friends and making memories along the way. He also had a special love for his dogs, Cow and Macy, who have since passed and will always remain a part of his memories.

He will be remembered for his hard work, quiet nature, sense of humor, unmistakable laugh, big smile, love of music and motorcycles, and most of all, the love he had for his family and grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carilion Taubman Cancer Center in Roanoke, Virginia, in Tony’s memory.

Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Service.
