Calvin Fitz-El

May 6, 1947 — August 25, 2026

Calvin Fitz-El, age 79 of Rocky Mount, departed this life and entered into eternal heaven at his home on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in the early morning. He was born on May 6, 1947 in Richmond Virginia to the late Luke Baker and Rosa Fitz Calvin was educated in Richmond and in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Calvin went off to serve in the Marine Corps for 22 years. Calvin’s last known working places were MW Windows, Lowes and he owned his own Home Improvement business.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his daughter Tamika and sister Mancie Mae McNeil.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Mary Fitz-El; children, Calvin Fitz Jr., Reginald Robinson, Mario Fitz, Aliya and Rikki Cook, Moori Fitz El, Latifah, Malik, Michael Holland, Malcolm Holland; also had a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews, a host of uncle and aunts; mother-in-law, Jean Holland; sister-in-law, Connie Lemon; brother-in-law, Vell Holland.

His family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
