Lena Ferguson Smith

Lena F. Smith, age 99 of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024. She was born December 1, 1924 to the late Sandy J. Ferguson, Sr. and Bessie Zeigler Ferguson. Lena was also preceded in death by her husband, Euber J. Smith, Jr.; 13 siblings; her son, David B. Smith and wife Brenda C. Smith; grandchildren, Michael N. Haynes, Jeff M. Smith, Wally Smallwood and her best friends, Norma Jean Fralin and Virginia Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy S. Jones (Jessie); “adopted” daughter, Wava Johnson; grandchildren, Missy Smith (Theresa), Chris Smallwood (Tracy) and Meredith Smith; great-grandchildren, Brent, Ethan and Jarrett Smith (Melody Smallwood), along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024 with Elders Zack Byrd and Mark Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family respectfully requests no food.
