SML Good Neighbors, Inc. has been selected as a State Farm Neighborhood Assist Top 200 Finalist

Moneta, VA – SML Good Neighbors needs your help by voting for them to receive a $25,000 grant from State Farm® to help improve the Smith Mountain Lake community. Starting August 18 at 12:00am ET, U.S. residents who are 18 and older with a valid email address can vote for SML Good Neighbors at www.neighborhoodassist.com.

SML Good Neighbors has until August 27 at 11:59pm ET to rally votes and anyone voting is allowed up to 10 votes per day. On September 29, the top 40 vote-receiving causes will be announced at www.neighborhoodassist.com and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to each of the affiliated nonprofits.

SML Good Neighbors focuses on educational, social, and nutritional needs of children from families with limited resources in Bedford and Franklin Counties, Virginia. Since 2008, we have conducted 4-week Summer Enrichment Camps in both counties for children in grades 1-12, at no cost to their families.

If SML Good Neighbors wins, the $25,000 would fund scholarships for students in Bedford and Franklin Counties who hope to gain certification in a trade or para-profession, or who aspire to a 2- or 4-year college degree. SML Good Neighbors’ goal is to make awards of $1000 to 2 students by the end of the 2021-2022 academic year. The remaining funds will be invested with a long-term of goal of funding future scholarships through dividend earnings.
