Peter S. Ciccarello
Peter S. Ciccarello entered Heaven on Thursday May 6th with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Micheal Ciccarello and his son-in-law Daniel Scudder. Surviving are his beloved wife of 54 years, Carolyn J. Ciccarello, his children Peter Scott Ciccarello (Angie Layne), Jeanie L. Scudder, Micheal J. Ciccarello and Lori C. Payne (Joel) and his grandchildren; Kyle Scudder, Shawn Moats, Emily Ciccarello, Meghan Payne, Ethan Ciccarello, Ava Ciccarello, Aiden Payne, Hannah Scudder, Jacob Layne, Kennedy McBride, Liberty McBride. Also surviving are his sister, Gloria Saldiveri (Anthony) and his nephews Marc Raspanti (Wendy) and Andre Rapanti (Clarissa).
Peter was born and raised in New York City or as he liked to call it “a little island you might have heard of called Manhattan.” He was best known for his humorous personality and love of a good conversation. Peter never met a stranger.
As a born again Christian, Peter’s faith was of utmost importance. He was a longstanding member of Franklin Heights Church as well as Grace Community Church prior to moving to Virginia. Throughout his lifetime he sang in the choir, worked with youth programs as well as the hospitality desk on Sunday mornings.
As a dedicated family man, Peter made sure that his family knew he loved them. Summers were spent as a family camping in the Adirondacks. He realized a lifelong dream when he took his family on a cross country trip from NJ to California and back via motor home. Peter loved to travel.
Peter proudly served his country from 1961 to 1967 in the US Army as a communications specialist. His love of country continued throughout his lifetime. In his retirement years he volunteered at his local voting precinct. He rarely missed the opportunity to be of service to his local chapter of the Republican Party.
Throughout his professional career Peter worked for the Olivetti Company as a salesman and for various car dealerships as service manager. Peter excelled at working with the public. He was never at a loss for a joke, a story or a smile.
The family will hold a memorial service on Monday May 24th at 11:00am at Franklin Heights Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Backpack Ministry at the church in memory of Peter.
