Update – February 23, 2020 7:30pm: On Sunday, February 23, 2020, search efforts to locate Mr. Perdue continued throughout the day. The searches were done by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Public Safety, and assistance from the Rocky Mount Police Department. At approximately 3:30pm, the body of a deceased male was found in a wooded area that leads down to a creek, not far from Mr. Perdue’s home address. Preliminary identification of the body leads to Keith Perdue, based on identification cards located inside the clothing of the deceased male. No foul play is suspected at this time, pending results from the Medical Examiner’s office.

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Details may be released soon as to why crime scene units have been dispatched to Muddy Fork Road, according to verified sources.
No word on if the reported police presence is connected to a man missing in the area on February 2.
As Cable 12 reported a week ago, Keith Purdue has been missing sincd February 2. An accident involving a car registered to Perdue was reported, but Mr. Purdue could not be found.
