Horsepasture Fire Chief Laid to Rest
HENRY CO. – Family, friends, and fellow firefighters held funeral services for fallen Horsepasture Fire Chief Charlie Bradshaw December 18.
“Chief, we are forever grateful for your many years of commitment to your community and compassion! We will never forget the impression you left upon us and the knowledge and kindness you spread! You were like a father figure to us! We are missing you and Mrs Sherri! May God bring comfort to the Bradshaw family and to the community! May we grow closer as a family and cherish the memories we had! We are so grateful for the love and support of the community,” said a post on the Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook Page.
The funeral for Bradshaw and his wife was Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Horsepasture Christian Church.
State police say Bradshaw and his wife Sherri Bradshaw were killed when a tree fell on the 2017 Ford Explorer Bradshaw was driving. The vehicle ran off the side of Route 793 after the tree hit it, and struck a utility pole, then several more trees. The couple was traveling north and both were wearing their seat belts when the accident happened at 4:58 p.m. Friday, December 13. Two children in the vehicle were not injured, state police say.
