Couple Found in Maryland After Stealing Woman’s Purse, Car from Moneta Funeral

MONETA – Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department have arrested a man and woman they say took off with a woman’s purse and vehicle while she was attending a funeral August 3 on Lakemount Drive in Moneta.

Courtney Ann Rucker, 28, of Fincastle and Kevin Lee Salsbury, 33, of Vinton were found in the stolen car August 6 in Montgomery, Maryland. They have both been charged with felony grand larceny of a motor vehicle and face additional charges in Maryland, Vinton and Bedford and are being held in Montgomery, MD.

Investigators used video evidence from the church to identify the suspects, one of which confessed to the crimes.
