Flora Funeral Service Obituary: Jesse Lee Robertson

???????????

Jesse Lee Robertson, born October 24, 1934, son of Willie and Ima B. Robertson, departed his earthly home on Monday, June 24, 2019. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy P. Robertson; and his sisters, Ernestine Lynch (Paul) and Tillie Dent (Pete). Jesse is survived by his brother, Reverend David Robertson (Maggie); and his sister, Nancy Perdue (Cecil-deceased). He leaves his five children, Debra Smith (K.C.), Jessecia Dianne Murphy (Paul), Lee Robertson (Debbie), Dwayne Robertson and Darren Robertson (Allison); along with ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jesse was a loving husband and father, who worked diligently to provide for his family. He spent time at both Cooper Wood Products and Lane Company before founding his own business, Lee’s Wood Products in 1975. Jesse was admired and respected for his work ethic, determination to succeed and the kindness and consideration he showed others. The business he built at Lee’s Wood Products is still family run, some 44 years later. On the personal side, Jesse had a sparkle in his eyes, was quick with a smile and always enjoyed a good laugh. He was a man of faith, who believed anything was possible with hard work and a kind heart, values he exemplified for his family. Though Jesse will be sorely missed by those he leaves behind, there is joy in his reunion with his wife Nancy and his Creator. In lieu of flowers or food, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Virginia: Alzheimer’s Association 355 Rio Road West, Suite 102 Charlottesville, VA 22901. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
