Jamey Singleton

Meteorologist Jamey Singleton has been part of Cable 12 not long since the station first started in the early 1990's. Starting on camera work, then moving into on-air responsibilities while still in high school, anchoring weather segments and conducting on-air interviews at events. With the recent rise of social media in today's broadcast world, Jamey has concentrated his expertise into weather blogging, video blogging, and news stories. Jamey also has acquired more of an appreciation for behind-the-scenes work, including directing shows such as Rise and Shine, REMAX Mountain to Lake Realty Showcase, Victory in Jesus, and Sounding Forth the Gospel. Jamey graduated Franklin County High School in 1996 and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Asheville (2000). He has worked at WSLS, WSET, WFXR, and has been seen on stations throughout the U.S. during hurricanes and extreme weather when he worked for WSLS and Media General. Singleton is single and lives in Rocky Mount, in the town he was born and raised in. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights, playing piano/keyboard and researching new weather concepts.
