Diesel Spill Closes 220 South
ROCKY MOUNT – A multi-vehicle accident closed both lanes of 220 South at Grassy Hill Road last Thursday, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
Details of the accident weren’t available since the accident was handled by state police.
Diesel fuel was leaking onto the road, forcing the shutdown of 220 South. Franklin County Public Safety played a audio message over a loud speaker system to alert nearby residents of the spill. The message could be heard through most of the Franklin Heights subdivision.
There were no reports of injuries.
