Flora Funeral Service Obituary: William Eugene “Gene” Strickler

William Eugene “Gene” Strickler, age 87 of Rocky Mount left this world on April 20, 2019 to wake up to see the Lord on Easter morning. He is preceded in death by his parents, Corbin and Doris. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosemary; sons, Keith and Tony; daughter, Kathy (Phillip) Solomon; step-children, Robert (Deborah) Webster, Donna (Tim) Haddix and Linda (David) Pendleton. He is also survived by two brothers, Jack and Danny; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his fur baby “Sam” who was his riding buddy. His laughter, “little jokes” and the unconditional love he showed others will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family wants to say a special thank you to Juanita Powell who was his caregiver. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25 2019. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
