Man Found Dead in Boones Mill Home, Investigators Say Circumstances Are ‘Suspicious”

BOONES MILL – The body of a man reported missing from West Virginia was found Monday in a Boones Mill home he was renting, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

William Kirk Odell, 58, was found by his landlord who called 9-1-1 around 1:15 p.m. March 29, 2021 in the 6000 block of Bethlehem Road.

Investigators say the circumstances surrounding Odell’s death are suspicious and that an investigation into the death is continuing.

Odell was originally reported missing by a family member, investigators say.

There is no threat to the community, according to Sergeant Megan Huston.
