Ferrum Sweeps Eastern Mennonite in ODAC Baseball

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Ferrum College swept an Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader this afternoon at Eastern Mennonite University, winning the opener 7-5 before taking the nightcap 14-8 at EMU Baseball Field.

THE BASICS
Tim Ortega went 4-5 with a triple and a home run, scored three runs and drove in two in the opener. Mitch Custer (W, 1-0) got the win after pitching six innings in relief and striking out four.
In the nightcap, Ferrum exploded for 15 base hits, including three each by Jake Martin and Drew Calohan. Starter Joey Pride (W, 4-0) remained unbeaten after throwing the first six innings with two strikeouts. Zach Roberts had three base hits on the afternoon for Eastern Mennonite, including a home run in game two.
