15 Flu Cases in One Week Cause Christian Heritage Academy to Close Thu, Fri
ROCKY MOUNT – For the safety of students and staff, Rocky Mount’s Christian Heritage Academy (CHA) chose to close school yesterday (Thursday) and today (Friday).
Director of communications Melanie Cassady says the closure reinforces the school’s desires to prevent any further illness.
There were 15 confirmed cases of the flu in one week alone, in addition to other illnesses, Cassady said. The secondary school students and teachers were hit the hardest.
All activities for the remainder of the week were also cancelled and will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
The school has hired a professional cleaning company to disinfect the school.
CHA says they will reopen, good as new, on Monday.
