Arrest Made in Death of Henry Co. Mother, Unborn Child
HENRY CO. – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death of Krystal Anne McReynolds and her unborn child. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia has ruled the death of McReynolds and her unborn child as homicide.
McReynolds died as the result of a gunshot wound. The cause of death for the unborn child was found to be maternal trauma.
As a result of the death, Thomas Christopher McDowell has been charged with second degree murder of Krystal Anne McReynolds and use of a firearm during the commission of murder.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Commonwealth’s Attorney Office are working together to determine any additional charges or upgraded charges in relation to the death of the unborn child.
McDowell is currently held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
