UPDATE: 116 Back Open After Body Found In the Windy Gap Area

UPDATE: 6:50 p.m. – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says Jubal Early Highway is back open to traffic.

HARDY – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says they’ve closed part of 116 / Jubal Early Highway after a body was found on the side of Truman Hill Road this afternoon.

The body was found in the 7900 block of Truman Hill Road around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Captain Phillip Young.

Jubal Early Highways is blocked from Timber Trail to Windridge Parkway, Young said.

There is no danger to the public. A cause of death has not been been determined.
