Mary Helen Quinn
February 27, 1927 – January 20, 2025

Mary Helen Quinn, 97 years old is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior as of Monday, January 20, 2025.
Helen was born on February 27, 1927 to Teddy R. Hodges and Emma Golden Hodges. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noell (Pat) Quinn; brothers, William Hodges (Gladys) and Denvil Hodges; sister, Ella Mae Sink; nieces, Elaine Harmon and Cindy Hankins; nephews, Ricky Hodges and Greg Hankins.
Helen is survived by her sisters, Shirley Tosh and Minnie Hankins and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Helen was also blessed with over 50 years of friendship with her neighbor, Garnet Fitzgerald who always brought Helen flowers from her garden. Helen worked at Pannels Knitting Mill for many years before opening up her home and heart to many children whom she babysat for and she loved each one of them in her own special way. Helen was a dedicated member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She loved to serve her Lord and could be found either driving the van for outreach, teaching Sunday School, cleaning the church or singing in the Choir. She loved her family and would do anything to help anyone that would ask. Her door was always open to anyone. She loved to cook and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be missed. The family would like to share special appreciation to all that cared for Helen during her many years of dementia and all the wonderful ladies that work with the Carilion Hospice Team in Rocky Mount. God blessed us with the assurance that Helen is now rejoicing in Heaven and we that are ready will see her again one day.
Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025 with Mr. Kevin Tosh and Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodges-Lynch Family Cemetery (Doe Run Road). Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
His Lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Matthew 25:23
In honor of Helen remember to always find something good in every aspect of life. This is not good bye but love and miss you until we meet again our Sweet Helen.
