Evan Ryan Kinney

February 12, 2000 – January 2, 2025

Evan Ryan Kinney, age 24 of Wirtz passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025. His family is suffering the much too early passing of this loving, brilliant and analytical young man.  The memory of Van is cherished by his parents, Jennifer Renick and Jeremy Kinney and their partners, Jeremy Cox and Melissa Warren; his siblings that he loved so much, Sophia Kinney, Landon Kinney, Madeline Kinney, Seth Hash, Gabriel Hash and Lyla Hash; grandparents, Sandra Webster (David), Ronnie Renick (Rachel), Millie Myers and Philip Kinney (Deb), along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends of his special soul.

Van loved the outdoors. Whether it was kayaking or camping he always came back with a humorous story of lost shoes or finding wildlife that seemed to find their way into his caring hands. He grew up on the local rivers with his Little Papa exploring or just wandering. His passion was working on cars and trucks of any kind with his Dad, brother, friends or anyone in his path who needed a hand. Anything and everything that he did it was with this whole heart.

The absence of Vans unparalleled kindness, unconditional love and giving nature has left a chasm in the hearts of friends and family. The monumental loss of his wonderful soul is deeply mourned. We hope to learn from his short existence, to love the people closest to us and be kind the stranger you cross paths with.

Family and friends will be received at Flora Funeral Service (665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount VA 24151) on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gift of Hope:  6720 Circle Creek Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065 and at Giftofhopeservices.com.
