Benjamin “Ben” Carey Hutto

June 18, 1984 – December 31, 2024

Benjamin “Ben” Carey Hutto, 40, died unexpectedly December 31, 2024 in Roanoke, Va. He was born June 18, 1984, in Salem, Va., the son of Charles “Chuck” Lee Hutto, Jr. and Sylvia (Hodges) Hutto.

Ben was a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. In 2015, he married the love of his life who laughed at all of his jokes, Cameron (Turner) Hutto. They welcomed a girl, Susan “Susie” Carey Hutto in 2020. Ben started Northridge Construction and built a successful business building and renovating homes in the Roanoke area. Ben is most known for his charismatic, effervescent personality. He had a quick wit, stealthy humor, and an easygoing nature that made everyone gravitate toward him. He had a strong love for his family, many friends, and his “best girl” Susie.

Ben is survived by his parents Chuck and Sylvia (Hodges) Hutto; his beloved wife, Cameron (Turner) Hutto; daughter Susie Hutto; sister Lindsay (Hutto) Hurt and her husband Kevin; cousin Greg Phillips and his wife Lori; mother-in-law Cece Melesco; father-in-law Tom Turner; brothers-in-law Clark Turner and his wife Karen, Todd Melesco and Brenn Linens, and John Melesco and Adrienne Ross; sister-in-law Alex (Melesco) Crosby and her husband Davis; nieces Nora Hurt, Lillian Hurt, and Eleanor Turner; nephews William Turner, Mac Crosby and Myles Melesco. He also held a special place for his many friends (Key Chang, Matt Everhart, Nick Overholt, Matt Hubbard, and others) whom he loved fiercely.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 4-6pm at Flora Funeral Chapel. A private service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
