Kathern “Judy” Shively

December 5, 1937 – September 8, 2024

Kathern “Judy” Shively, age 86 of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully at home Sunday, September 8, 2024. She was born December 5, 1937 a daughter of the late Robert Arville Collins and Mary C. Collins. Known for her smiling personality and passion for family and church, Judy will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Judy’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rodney Shively. Surviving are her brother, Orville “Butch” Collins (Ruth); children, William Blaine Shively (Margaret), Joy Lynn Cundiff (Brian) and Durand Leigh Shively (Angie); grandchildren, Ryan Shively and Wyatt Cundiff (Autumn). The family would like to thank devoted long-time caregivers, Betty Hodges and Cindy Bower as well as Carilion Hospice for the excellent care she received. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shively-Spencer Family Cemetery with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating.
