Mrs. Billie Lavenia Mason

Mrs. Billie Lavenia Mason, age 93 of Moneta, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 10, 2024 surrounded by her children and husband. 

Lavenia was born December 14, 1930 in Bugtussle, Kentucky to Edgar and Vivian Combs. 

She was blessed with a beautiful voice and used it to sing to others as a witness. Lavenia also had a deep love of art and created majestic landscapes for everyone to enjoy. Her other activities included being a champion corn hole player, traveling in her motor home across the country, sewing, and crocheting. 

She dedicated her life to her husband, Henry Lawrence Mason, Jr. (Bud), her children and grandchildren, as well as always going above and beyond meeting the needs of others – including strangers. 

Preceding her in death are her parents and seven of her ten siblings. 

She is survived by her husband, Bud, and her eight children: son – H. L. Mason III (Larry) and his wife, Sharon; daughter – Dianne Mason; daughter – Tammy Clayton and her husband, Bill; son – Billy Mason and his wife, Joanna; daughter – Melody Mason; daughter – Marcia Stroupe; daughter – Patricia Sweat and her husband Jonathan; son – Buddy Mason and his wife Heather. Lavenia is also survived by her thirty-four grandchildren and forty-seven great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be conducted at Radford Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
