Yvonne V. Anderson

Yvonne V. Anderson, age 87 of Rocky Mount, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Yvonne was born August 22, 1935 to the late Louis and Clementine Volle of Bridgewater, PA. Yvonne was only 18 when she married J.L. and moved to Rocky Mount where they built their home together. They worked on the family tobacco farm and raised three wonderful children. She went on to live there for 71 years. She made countless memories with six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Yvonne was preceded in death by her father and mother, Louis and Clementine Volle; sister, Sylvia Volle; brother, Louis (Sonny) Volle; her loving husband, James L. Anderson (J.L.); and her daughter, Michelle A. Jones. Surviving is her brother, Craig Volle (Barbara); son, James Coy Anderson; daughter, Carol M. Wood (Brent); son-in-law, Joey Jones; and sister-in-law, Shirley Brown. Memorial donations can be made in honor of Yvonne to Flint Hill United Methodist Church, 522 Booker T. Washington Hwy, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 with Pastor Anthony Budzik officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
