Charlie Douglas Keatts, age 92 of Penhook passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Thomas and Jenny Oakes Keatts, siblings, Burton Oakes, Edmund Keatts, Ola Matthews and Ella Kendrick, grandkids, Blair Motley III and Lisa Forbes. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Lois Cobler Keatts, children, Dennis (Sheila) Keatts, Joyce (Edward) Ingram, Teresa (Lynwood) Merricks, Michelle (Tim) Pace, grandchildren, Karen McRoy, Jessica Hunt, Brandon Keatts, Nicholas Keatts, Carrie Bouldin, Zane Forbes, Zoie Pace, several great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, brother, Andrew Oakes, sisters, Nera Bernard, Lucy (Ben) Kirk, Mildred Gunter, Shirley Kirk, brother-in-law, Gem Kendrick, special brother-in-law, Kenny Cobler, special nephew, Brent Craig, many nieces and nephews. Charlie served in the US Army, was a charter member of the Snow Creek Volunteer Fire Department, the Obie Minter Memorial Post 10840 and the American Legion. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Snow Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Snow Creek Christian Church Back Pack Program or a charity of your choice. Many thanks to the support and care of Mountain Valley Hospice. Due to Covid-19, there will be no visitation and anyone attending services are asked to please wear a mask. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 with Minister Ted Clifton officiating.
