Tony Allen Reynolds, age 74 of Hardy passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026. Tony was born September 14, 1951 to the late Wallace A. Reynolds and Dorothy Towler Reynolds Redwine. He was also preceded in death by his step-dad, William Reid Redwine; brother and sister-in-law, Wallace Roger and Norma Jean Reynolds; nephew, Bradley Palmer; brother-in-law, Ken Jones; best friend and companion, Abby.

Tony is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Jones Reynolds; daughter and son-in-law, Melondy Dawn and Richard Phillips; grandchildren, Corey Phillips and Hunter Phillips; sister, Carolyn Poff; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Brian Ulrich; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Marsha Redwine; along with many nieces and nephews.

Tony loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Franklin Heights Church where he attended until his health began to decline and it became difficult to attend. Many thanks to all the love, prayers, cards and visits of our Kingdom Seekers Connect Group who loved Tony unconditionally and prayed continuously for him. Tony’s faith was very important to him. Thank you to family, friends and neighbors who followed Tony through his battle with Alzheimer’s and bought him his favorite snack, M&M’s.

Tony was a HVAC technician and worked for Johnson Controls, Southern Air and retiring from the City of Roanoke.

Tony loved the simple things in life. He said many times that the gift of life was a special thing. Tony loved the mountains, the rivers and looking into the sky and clouds. All the things God created. He loved getting out and walking the trails in the woods. Tony loved all animals, especially his best friend and companion, Abby.

Tony chose a life verse for himself, 1 Thes. 4:11 “Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life; you should mind your own business and work with your hands so your daily life may win the respect of others and so you will not be dependent on anybody”. Tony lived his life this way.

A special thanks also to Carilion Hospice and the Palliative Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital who made Tony’s last days very comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Research program of your choice. Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease in which little is known for a cure. Or your favorite animal rescue.

Funeral services will be held at Franklin Heights Church 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2026. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends starting at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
