Nathon (Nate) McKinley Davis, 36, of Rocky Mount Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on August 5, 2026.
Born on October 25, 1989 in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Nathon was the eldest son of Karen Kelley and McKinley Davis. He spent his early years in Franklin County and later in Roanoke County, Fincastle and surrounding areas. Nate had an impeccable sense of humor, always knew how to uplift and encourage those around him. Nate also had a heart to serve his country and community, ranging in his time in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant, and his time serving in local law enforcement. Nate had a passion for physical fitness, massage therapy, MMA and working on his project vehicles. He greatly cherished his family and friendships and was the life of the party wherever he went.
Those who knew and loved Nate will remember him for being a true core individual, a trait that was deeply respected, appreciated and sorely missed in the days to come. Nate is survived by his mother Karen Kelley, stepfather Ronnie Kelley, father McKinley Davis, sister Alicia Davis, brothers Timmy and Matthew Kelley, his chosen daughter Vanessa Hammock and her mother Crystal Hammock, grandparents Bill and Mildred Mason along with many friends that were like brothers and sisters to him. Special thanks to cousin Alexis Muse, the Davis and Kelley family, and the countless friends that were there to support him and the family in his time of need. He was preceded in death by Grandma and Granddaddy Davis and Grandpa Hall.
A celebration of life will be held at Flora Funeral Services in Rocky Mount, VA, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026. His family will start receiving friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance or Fight Colorectal Cancer in memory of Nathon. Nathon M. Davis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing him. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
