Raymond Lee Mattox

March 28, 1956 — July 9, 2026

On July, 9, 2026, God called home his beloved son, Raymond Lee Mattox, age 70 of Rocky Mount. He was born on March 28, 1956 to the late Steve Mattox, Sr. and was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Mattox, Jr.; and longtime friend, Beverly Simmons. He is survived by his mother, Thelma Mattox; his sisters, Lillie Belle Mattox and Delois Craighead; and two brothers, David Mattox and Carlton Mattox. Funeral services will be conducted from First Baptist Church 12 noon Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Interment will follow in Byrdview Cemetery. His family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church and 12-4 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
