Charles “Charley” Arthur Smith, Jr., age 21 of Rocky Mount, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith Sr. He is survived by his grandparents, Ruby Lynch, Judy Treadway and Jody Smith (Duck); mother, Tammy Sue Jones-Smith; siblings, Dylan Hunter M. Smith, Travis Jordan Smith, Rachel Anna E. Smith; aunts and uncles, Christy Lynch, Jody (Rhonda) Smith and Cindy Smith Haley; nieces and nephews, Colton Zane Smith, Hunter May Smith, Brixton Timothy Goins, Weston Rayne Smith and Raylynn Minnix; half sister, Kristen Anne Holley.

Charley loved fishing, riding ATVS, drawing, gardening, going hunting with Dylan. He loved the beach and would always talk about moving there one day. He was one of the sweetest genuine people you would have ever meet. When Charley walked into a room all you saw was smiles and he was always joking. He loved his family but more than that he loved his nieces and nephews the most. He always loved talking about cars, so much that we all remember the Skyline GT R34.

Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 with Pastor Roger Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
