W. Allen Hodges
October 8, 1941 — February 1, 2026
Glade Hill

Walter “Allen” Hodges, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Allen was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gerry Hodges; parents, Perry and Vera Hodges; sister, Judy Franklin (Glenn); and brother Kenneth Hodges (Terry).
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Hodges (Mike), and his son, Don Hodges (Kristie). He was a proud grandfather to Cristy Dammann, Collins Seay, Nikki Hodges, Christopher Hodges, Logann Hodges (Sampson), Abigail Gordon, and Jared Gordon. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Phillip (Tiara), Lucas, Palmer, Jacob, Hayden, Asher, Annaleah, and his great-great-grandchildren, Lillian, Charlotte, and Samuel.
Allen is also survived by his brothers, Tommy Hodges (Linda) and Gerald Hodges (Mary), along with multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins, including one very special cousin, David Hall.
A hardworking man with a kind heart, Allen showed that love doesn’t always need to be loud. Sometimes love simply shows up, stays close, and keeps working. He didn’t draw attention to himself he just did what needed to be done for the people he loved. That quiet endurance spoke volumes about his character.
Allen was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Doe Run Christian Church. His faith guided his life, and he showed love not just in words, but in consistency, devotion, and care.
His legacy lived was simple; faithful moments in the garage tinkering, slow Sunday drives, making apple butter with his church family, singing in the church chorus, games of softball, playing cards with friends and loving his family with quiet devotion every day. Per his request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doe Run Christian Church. We were lucky to have him, and we will carry his love, his example, and his legacy with us always. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
