Bobby M. Cundiff
April 14, 1943 – March 30, 2025

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, Bobby transitioned from his earthly body into the loving arms of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. Bobby was a merchant in Rocky Mount for 38 years. He owned and managed Western Auto and True Value Hardware, serving his customers and friends with fairness, understanding, and in an honest and sincere manner while serving in various capacities throughout his life. He was a member of Rocky Mount Masonic Lodge for 43 years and served on Rocky Mount Town Council for 12 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Cundiff; daughter, Beverly M. Cundiff; two precious granddaughters, Rachel Altizer (Jason Shaw) and Rebecca Wyatt. Also surviving are his sisters, Juanita Plybon and Betty Hunley; and a close friend, John Boitnott. Preceding him in death are his parents, Willie T. Cundiff and Mattie Brooks Cundiff; brothers, William “Billy” Cundiff, James Herbert Cundiff, Andrew Thomas Cundiff; and sisters, Myrtle Carter and Jewell Hunt. In addition to these family members, he is preceded in death by four beloved pets, Tippy, Mikey, Bea, and Patches. He was and will continue to be loved and cherished through lasting memories. His memory will live on in many ways, including daily doses of ice cream for a sweet treat.

Additionally, the nurses Emily, Lori, Patricia, Lee, Chrissa-Bell and assistive staff Emily and Amber – your care and compassion for your jobs truly shows and is greatly appreciated by all of us.”
The family request no food and in lieu of flowers suggest that memorials be made to: St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, or Wounded Warriors Project or a charity of your choosing. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. The service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Masonic Rites. The family will have a private graveside service following.
