Daryl Anthony Rayman
February 10, 1958 – March 12, 2025

Daryl Anthony Rayman of Moneta, Virginia passed away peacefully at 67 years old at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Daryl was born on February 10, 1958, to James Frances Rayman and Donna May Kuhns Rayman in Salem, South Dakota.
Growing up on a farm, Daryl developed a strong work ethic and deep connection to the outdoors. After marriage and the birth of his two daughters, Daryl moved his young family to Conconully, Washington. There, he established his Masonry business, Rayman Masonry, in which he owned and operated for over 10 years.
Daryl later moved to Youngsville, North Carolina and joined Rayman Electric where he became the most trusted figure, dedicating 19 years of service to the company. Those who had the privilege of working alongside Daryl were well aware of his tireless work ethic and unwavering reliability.
Upon his “retirement”, Daryl embarked on a new chapter at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia where he managed over 40 properties, fostering a community of tenants who trusted and admired him for his dedication and care.
Daryl was a man of many talents and trades with passions that included hunting, fishing, living off the land, and working with his hands. Daryl’s ingenuity and resourcefulness knew no bounds.
Daryl lived a simple yet extraordinary life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Daryl is survived by his daughters, Twyla Rayman Hommert (Kevin) and Tanya L. Rayman; his grandchildren, Hunter Ray, Ethan Hommert and Arilyn Hommert; his eight siblings, Colleen Hoyle (Danny), Mary Rayman Gaspar (Joe), Jim Rayman (Teresa), Pat McConnell (Jim), Dave Rayman (Gloria), Kevin Rayman (Stacy), Keith Rayman (Julie), and Robin
Rayman (Ronnie); and many nieces and nephews. Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bob Rayman (Sue); and his sister, Ellen Bartscher (Bob).
