Wanda Bowman Crickenberger
January 24, 1938 – February 10, 2025

Wanda Bowman Crickenberger, 87, of Salem, VA passed away Monday afternoon, February 10, 2025 after a brief illness. She was born in Boones Mill, VA to Luther and Annie Bowman and graduated from Franklin County High School, and later Ferrum College where she met the love of her life, Tommy and they were married in 1958. She retired from General Electric in Salem where she worked for over 30 years in both the purchasing and engineering departments.
Mema showed us her love through so many tangible ways such as, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, cheesies, picnics in the parks, travels to historic places, trips to Mill Mountain Zoo, all the books she gave us, family apple butter, homemade fudge and most of all her endearing devoted marriage to Pa which served as a model for us all.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Crickenberger; son, Jack Crickenberger (Stephanie); daughter, Melissa Robertson (Mark); brother, Mitchell Bowman (Bobbie); sister-in-law, Eleanor Bowman; grandchildren, Tabitha Robertson (Jeff), Jackson Crickenberger (Carla), McKinley Robertson (Jenny) and Jacob Crickenberger (Tesha); along with seven great-grandchildren, Elise, Madelyn, Cora, Maidyn, Lorelei, Nikolai, and Vera; and a very special friend, Marla Bohling.
She was one of nine siblings and was pre-deceased by Ray Bowman, Estelle Craig, Harlan Bowman, Orville Bowman, Archer Bowman, Chester Bowman and Barbara Hopkins.
