Gloria Leah Prillaman

October 13, 1956 – February 15, 2025

Gloria Leah Prillaman, age 68 of Callaway passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born October 13, 1956, and had been a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church since 1987. She presently enjoyed viewing Faith Fellowship Church services online as well as Piedmont. Gloria graduated from Franklin County High School in 1975 and received an Associate in Applied Science degree from Virginia Western Community College in 1977. She worked at VWCC, Franklin Tie & Wood, Martin Processing, and 14 years at First Virginia Bank until retiring due to disability. As long as her health permitted, she enjoyed and loved working with flowers. She also enjoyed photography, the piano, oil and acrylic painting, and collecting antique glass. In addition, she was an avid bird watcher and had enjoyed looking for arrowheads on the family farm since the age of 8.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edgar A. and Callie Dudley Beckett, Henry C. and Eliza Howery Prillaman; her father, John M. Prillaman; her mother, Ellen Beckett Prillaman; brothers, Harold W. Prillaman and John Ralph Prillaman; and niece, Amanda Prillaman Egner.

She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth P. Klingel; brother, David K. Prillaman (Janet); sister-in-law, Janice S. Prillaman; several nieces and nephews, Lori Ann Webb, Brian Prillaman (Melissa), J.D. Prillaman (Patty), Rea Prillaman, Karen Prillaman, and Stacy P. Hall (Jamie); plus several great-nephews and great-nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
