Robert “Bobby” Lee Moyer
April 13, 1941 – January 20, 2025

Robert (“Bobby”) Lee Moyer, age 83 of Rocky Mount, entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, January 20, 2025. He took his last breath on earth and was immediately in the presence of Jesus, and though our hearts are broken, we are extremely grateful for the promise that we will be reunited with him one day.
Bobby was born April 13, 1941 to the late George W & Elsie Wood Moyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene E. Moyer and Ronald L Moyer; brother-in-law, William D. Montgomery, Jr.; mother-in-law, Ruth Lavinder Turman (Charlie); and sister-in-law, Peggy Turman. He was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Sunie and Lax Mitchell; and grandparents, Elisha and Bertie Wood where Bobby’s labor of love was restoring their home and residing there for the past 51 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Turman Moyer; son, Carl Moyer; grandson, Timmy Moyer (Jazlyn); great-grandson, Gray Robert Moyer; two sisters, Thalia M. Altice (Lloyd) and Debbie M. Montgomery; sister-in-law, Bernice J. Moyer; brother-in-law, Glenn Turman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bobby worked hard all of his life and took great pride in his jobs, whether he was delivering Coca Cola in his younger years, serving as a police officer for the Town of Rocky Mount for 13-1/2 years, or scaling houses to install gutters as the owner of Moyer’s Seamless Guttering. He also served the citizens of Rocky Mount as a member of Town Council for 12 years. He enjoyed helping people and had a servant’s heart. During his lifetime, there were 3 churches that held a special place in his heart: Gogginsville Methodist, Furnace Creek Baptist, and lastly Franklin Heights. He also served as a member of the Gideons.
Bobby loved old cars, fishing, NASCAR, and racing his own #19 car when he was young. He fought the good fight, ran a good race and today he took the checkered flag! Bobby lived life to the fullest and he would encourage you to always find the good in everything life throws at you. Go Rest High On That Mountain, Bobby. You will forever be loved.
