Pansy Diane Smith

February 27, 1945 – January 25, 2025

Pansy Diane Smith, 79, of Glade Hill, Virginia passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at her home in Glade Hill, Virginia surrounded by her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, J.R. Smith; her sons, Robert Smith (Kay), David Smith (Cindy) and Tony Smith; and her daughter, Christine Smith Cronick (David); her 10 grandchildren, Joshua Adkins (Deliena), Jarrett Adkins (Kayla), Nick Smith (Shaina), Chasity Cooper (Justin), Rees Smith, Ethan Smith, Alyssa Smith, Heather Smith, Kelly Smith and Jack Smith; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Shively; brother-in-law, Johnny Fox; brother-in-law, Watson Smith and his wife Mary Ann; sister-in-law, Darlene Hudson and her husband Mark; and brother-in-law Allen Smith and his wife Patricia. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Bunyan and Essie Shively; her in-laws, Kyle and Gertrude Smith; her brother, Bobby Shively; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Mazel Shively; brother and sister-in-law, James and Bernice Shively; sister, Vicky Shively Fox; and sister-in-law, Zelma Boyd and her husband Monroe. She was also preceded by her nephew, Everett Wayne (Joe) Shively, Jr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Glade Hill Baptist Church in Glade Hill, Virginia on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
