Diana D. McKinney

January 23, 1954 – January 22, 2025

With hearts both heavy and grateful, we celebrate the beautiful life of Diana D. McKinney, who arrived as a blessing to this world on January 23, 1954, and took her place in heaven January 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She is now reunited with those who have gone before her. Diana was the beloved daughter of the late Roy Arnold DeWeese and Barbara McVey.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her son, James Stinnette, and his wife, Catherine, and her daughter, Kristyn Burks, and her husband JC. Diana was a cherished grandmother to Katelyn Foster (Keaton), Sydnie Stinnette, Madison Stinnette, Nae Stinnette, Aidan Stinnette, Wyatt Stinnette, and Maverick Burks. Her love extended to the next generation with her great-granddaughter, Eleanor “Ella” Foster. Diana also leaves behind her brother, Roy DeWeese, and his wife, Tracey, as well as her special aunt, Peggy Hart, and her husband, Ed, who held a dear place in her heart.

A devoted lover of art, animals, and long walks with her dogs, Diana was known for her compassionate heart, caring spirit, and unwavering determination. She faced life’s challenges with grace and strength, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, free from pain and confusion, while rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family will hold a celebration of life with the scattering of ashes at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
