Chance leaves behind his devoted wife of 17 years, Mandi Young; and his cherished children, Ramsey, age 10 and Mason, age 7. He also leaves behind a wonderful family and large number of amazing friends.

Surviving family members are his parents, Leon and Dorenda Young and Debbie Spriggs; grandmother, Marie Chitwood; father-in-law, Andy Sink; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Lauren Young; brother, Brad and Laurie Hodges; sister-in-law, Jennifer and Steven David; nephews, Brennan, Rylan, and Preston Young, Sam and Grey David; nieces Skyllar and Addi Hodges; brother-in-law, Matt and Leanne Renick; sister-in-law, Rachel Renick; nieces and nephews, Dylan, Molly, Colton and Colt.

Chance was known for his kind heart, love for his family, and the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and has many impressive trophies to prove it. He always enjoyed going hunting with his close friends, but especially loved hunting for deer and turkeys with his sidekick, Ramsey. Chance also spent many, many years on the golf course. Not only did he golf for fun, he also poured many hours into heading up and helping host golf tournaments to benefit the Donna Sink Pediatric Fund. He was always the first to pitch in and help others in need.

Chance spent his earlier years logging with his dad, Leon and brother, Chad. Chance was especially skilled in the art of cutting trees and having them fall wherever he wanted them to. He later changed careers and found his calling in commercial insurance at Burton and Company in Martinsville. His co-workers soon became friends, and then family.

Chance is now at perfect peace in the arms of his Savior. He was a devoted follower of Christ and attended at Franklin Heights Church. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Franklin Heights Church, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024 with Pastor Stan Parris officiating. Interment will be private. His family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
