The family is grateful for the care provided by many caregivers in the last few years. We were blessed to have you in her life and we appreciate your kindness and care. Also, for the visits from Pastor Adam and members from Fairview Church of the Brethren are much appreciated.
She was a true lover of life, enjoying travel and her many friends and family. She was a “Woods” girl which meant her life was always full of music and strong family ties. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of each one of them. She was an avid reader and spent many hours solving word puzzles. Essie enjoyed coloring books, arts and crafts, and making baby quilts for anyone having a new baby. Church was always a big part of her life and she taught many Sunday School classes over the years. She will be greatly missed but we are happy she is no longer in pain and is now rejoicing with her family in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Fairview Church of the Brethren, c/o Tommy Young, 60 Belmont Dr., Rocky Mount, VA 24151 or the American Cancer Society.
