Charles Andrew Spicer

July 23, 1942 – October 21, 2024

Charles Andrew Spicer Sr, a loving husband, father, and resident of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Charles was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters and his wife of 55 years, Louetta Faye Spicer (Toots). He is survived by his three children, Teresa Scott (Kalvin), Charles Spicer Jr (Barbara), and Johnny Spicer (Jennifer); grandchildren, Shannon Chappelle, Brianne Scott, Katelin, Morgan, Taylor, Cody, Brynlee, Easton and Bryson Spicer, and his great-grandchild, Abby Chappelle. He is also survived by his three remaining siblings, Marvin Spicer (Reva), Robert “Bobby” Spicer (Sue), and Opal Grose. He leaves behind numerous special nieces, nephews, and friends. Charles was born in Mercer, West Virginia on July 23rd, 1942 to Henry Spicer and Myrtle Mathena Spicer. Charles (Specialists 5) joined the Army in 1963 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1967. During his time of service, he was an Armor Crewman, skilled marksman, and expert in the 30-caliber tank. On August 7th, 1964, he married the love of his life, Louetta Faye Spicer. Charles was a devoted husband to Louetta, a dedicated father to his children, and a thoughtful grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He absolutely loved to spend time with his family and cherished the time with his grandchildren. He was a devout member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rocky Mount, VA for more than 25 years. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and family. A memorial service will be held at Rocky Mount Seventh-Day Adventist Church 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024.
