Rebecca Tyree McCall, 96, of Glade Hill, VA passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024. She was born on February 2, 1928 in Rocky Mount, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hugh McCall, Sr.; infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann McCall; an infant son; parents, Walter L. and Christine E Tyree; sister, Brenda L. Tyree; and great granddaughter, Rowan Price.

Surviving are her children, Willie H. McCall, Jr. (Linda), Cindy M. Cundiff (Barry) and Thomas W. (T.W.) McCall (LeAnne); grandchildren, Ashley McCall (Christie), Mandy Price (Scott), Katelin Montgomery (Chris), Carrie Ramey (Bobby), Kasey Greer (Ryan), Caroline Johnson (Hunter), Kaylee Wethington, Alaura Wethington (Rayven), Meghan Wethington (Austin) and Morgan Wethington (Holden); great grandchildren, Emory Price, Ryan and Zander Ramey, Charlee and Kemper Montgomery, Lydia Arrington and Greyson Moore; chosen family members, Helbert Treadway (Cindy), Cameron and Dakota Treadway; several nieces and nephews; special friends, David and Norene Long.

Rebecca was a devoted wife, loving mother, and nurturing grandma. She was a nurses’ aid at Franklin Memorial Hospital and a substitute teacher for Franklin County Public Schools for many years. She was a homemaker and helped her parents and husband work on the farm. Rebecca loved to crochet and often shared what she created, especially her towels, with family and friends. Sharing her love for the Lord, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Chairman, and fixing the Lord’s Supper at Glade Hill Baptist Church where she was a member. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.

Visitation will be held at Glade Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024 at Glade Hill Baptist Church. Rev. David Long and Rev. Kevin Howerton will officiate. Interment will follow at Glade Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
