Benjamin Perry Harrison, age 76 of Ferrum passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024. He was born April 26, 1948 and was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Newbern Harrison and Elsie Mae Harrison; brother, Allen Harrison; and sisters, Nancy Holland and Ruby Dillon. Surviving are his wife, Joyce A. Harrison; son, Doug Harrison (Megan Harrison); daughter, Samantha Harrison (Robert Webb); six grandsons, Trevor and Sawyer Harrison, Tanner, Collin, Maddox and Dillon Webb; brother, Tom Harrison; sisters, Janet Hudson, Joyce Yopp, Glenda Dooley and Lynn Harrison (Greg); along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Benny enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the New York Yankees along with other UVA sports. He also enjoyed his work at Ferrum College as a Police Officer. His family would like to extend a special thanks to Legacy Hospice for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ferrum College “Student Scholarship Fund” c/o Office of Institutional Advancement, P.O. Box 1000, Ferrum, VA 24088. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Mountain View Memorial Park with Chaplain Timothy Martin officiating. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
