Dorothy Aker Webb

July 17, 1925 – August 28, 2024

At the beautiful age of 99, Dorothy Aker Webb went to her eternal home. Born July 17, 1925, she had the most beautiful, loving and giving spirit! She worked at Cox’s Department Store and Rainbow Child Care Center until she was in her 80’s. She was a life-long member of Gogginsville Methodist Church, singing in the choir and serving in many other ways.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rob and Nellie Aker; husband, Thomas William Webb; daughter, Barbara Webb Kinsey; brothers, Galen, Paul, Carlton, William and Henry Aker; and sister, Mary Wade Akers; sisters-in-law, Louise Aker and Georgie Aker.

She will be missed dearly here by her family and friends. Her surviving family are daughters, Jane Webb Smith and Betty Webb (Mike) Mills; grandchildren, Jeffrey Kinsey, Lisa (Gordon) Lyle, Carol Ann Hodges and J J (Angie) Kinsey, Laurie (Dale) Agee, Scot (Tonja) Mills; great-grandchildren, Megan (Cory) Shaw, Taylor Lyle, Danielle Hodges, Jordan (Cory) McNeil, Jamie (Jonathan) Sizemore, Samantha Kinsey, Heather Agee, Benjie (Kaitlin) Agee, Tommy Agee, Robby Agee, Hailey (Ben) Cahall, Graiden Mills and Summer Eubank; great-great grands, Cohen, Parker, Camden, Evelyn and Wylie. Also survived by sisters, Kate Flora and Carol (Ronald) David; and brother, Bud (Janet) Aker; sisters-in-law, Gladys Aker and Barbara Aker; and brother-in-law, Carl Akers.

Funeral services will be held at Gogginsville Methodist Church on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
