Ronald Dalton Ferguson, Sr.

May 17, 1943 – August 8, 2024

Ronald Dalton Ferguson, Sr. age 81 of Endicott passed on to be with Lord on August 8, 2024. Ronnie was a loving husband and devoted father, a lifelong outdoorsman and loved hunting with his boys and all the members of Shooting Creek Hunt Club. He fished with his wife, his sons and grandchildren and spent many days along Runnett Bag Creek and the Smith River. “Buckshot” always made time to share his abundant love and was our cornerstone. Daddy taught us how hunt, fish, work, and love our family. He taught us how to be good men. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton Ferguson and Nellie Woods Ferguson. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Gearhart Ferguson; his sons, Ronald, Jr. “Ron”, Eddie, Mark and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Tommy, David, Richard, Elijah, Katelynn and Isaiah; great-grandchildren, Carly and Aleeah; siblings, Larry Ferguson (Sherry) and Linda Saunders. Ronnie is also survived by special cousins, Bobby, Johnny and TW Wade; Tim and Tony Belcher; along with numerous other cousins; nieces; nephews and friends. A service will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Ferrum Virginia Rescue Squad or The Saint Jude Children’s Research Center.
