Delmus Eugene Hunt

April 23, 1971 – July 30, 2024

Delmus Eugene Hunt, age 53 of Rocky Mount tragically passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He is preceded in death by his dad, Otha Quinn; mom, Brenda Hunt; grandmother, Frances Hunt; and brother, Lewis Hunt. Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Hunt; daughter, Adreanna Hunt; and son, Matthew Hunt. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service.

From his wife, Jennifer: He was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He truly cared for others and was always there to help in their time of need. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved being a family man and always said God blessed him with a blissful wife of twenty-seven years and two beautiful children. He was so very proud of his children and they meant the world to him. He always worked hard to provide for this family and gave us all the things he thought we deserved and needed. His love was the greatest gift he ever gave me and I will cherish and carry it in my heart forever.

From his daughter, Adreanna: My dad was a compassionate soul who found joy helping anyway he could because he understood the value of genuine effort. His energetic spirit was expressed through spontaneous dance moves, enthusiastic singing, and contagious laughter. His strength and determination has supported our family through the best and worst aspects of life. He has been a nurturing father as well as a dependable friend. I am so fortunate to have had such a guiding light in my life and his unique love will reside within our hearts forever. 

From his son, Matthew: Dad, I didn’t think I would ever have to do this. You were truly a gift, a treasure to me and everyone that took the time to meet you. You had the best heart that could radiate miles away and taught me and our family to be strong and humble. I will miss our morning talks with coffee and football and your overall presence. You were truly a man that could do all things. A piece of my soul will be missing without you. I love you so much but I know God needed to take a strong man and angel to ascend to be in heaven. I love you Dad forever. Rest in peace. Delmus Hunt aka The Goat.
