Harvester adds Jackyl, Larry Sigmon and The Virginia Girls
ROCKY MOUNT, Virginia — The Harvester has added two shows to its summer lineup.
Rock ‘n’ roll band Jackyl will hit the Harvester stage on Friday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m.
It’s been three decades since Jackyl shot out of Georgia spewing equal parts hard rock, heavy metal and Southern rock. The band has never stopped touring or recording, and is earning new fans daily.
After the release of its debut album in 1992, videos for the singles “The Lumberjack” (with frontman Jesse James Dupree performing his iconic chainsaw solo), “I Stand Alone,” “Down On Me,” “Dirty Little Mind,” “When Will It Rain” and “Back Off Brother” earned rave reviews and rabid fans for the band’s no-holds-barred energy and lyrics.
The August 2022 release of “Jackyl 30 Coming In Hot” cemented and furthered Jackyl’s no-holds-barred legacy.
Tickets start at $37 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at harvester-music.com.
Banjo legacy Larry Sigmon and The Virginia Girls will perform Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m., as part of the Town of Rocky Mount’s Homegrown Music Series. Emily Spencer will perform as a special guest.
Sigmon has been known throughout his career for his hard-driving, rhythmic banjo style and strong vocals.
He now performs with The Virginia Girls, featuring Heather Krantz on guitar and vocals, Sophie Moeckel on mandolin, fiddle and vocals and Susan Blankenship on bass.
Tickets start at $10.11 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at harvester-music.com.
