Melvin Gary Mullins, age 80 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born December 3, 1943 a son of the late Gary and Mary Poff Mullins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Mullins. Surviving are a daughter, Joleigh Medley; several grandchildren; his nieces, Pam West (Tommy), Tiffany O’Neill (Todd) and nephew, Gary Shively; great-nieces and nephews, Aaron West, Hunter West, Victoria O’Neil, Hannah and Sarah Shively along with many wonderful close friends. Melvin was loved and cherished by his girls; Marsha Ann Vest, Jessica Ann Link, Hope Nichole Howard, Emory Ann Clark and Avery Joe Link.  He was a huge fan of NASCAR. A graveside service will be held at Story Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024. His family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
