Sherry Elaine Wilson

Sherry Elaine Wilson, age 81 of Wirtz died unexpectedly albeit quietly at Oakwood Health and Rehab, Bedford, VA on Sunday, February 11, 2024. She was born October 4, 1942 and was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Hardin Wilson; father, Burnis L. O’Brien; and mother, Daisy E. Jackson. Sherry graduated from Milby High School class of 1961 and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Corpus Christie, TX. She maintained a nursing license in Texas, California, and Virginia. Her passion though was always finance which she used in her job at Fannie Mae from 1982 to 2007 where she was an analyst in the Treasury Dept. Sherry held office in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in the state of Texas. She was also a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta. Sherry loved being by the water which is why she and her husband retired at Smith Mountain Lake, VA. Her favorite thing to do was watch the moon rise over the lake. With her love of the water, she and Joe would vacation often at many beach locations in the Caribbean and Mexico. Sherry also loved her family so well, her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. She is survived by her husband, Joe H. Wilson of Wirtz, VA; daughter, Alisa Elaine Moseley and her husband Johnny D. Moseley of Hamilton, VA; four grandchildren, Mads E. Bisignani and her husband Alex W. Bisignani of Tulsa, OK, Kaitlynn D. Moseley, Jordan D. Moseley and Logan D. Moseley of Hamilton, VA; and one great-grandchild, Fitzgerald W. Bisignani of Tulsa, OK.
