Susan Beth Flora
Susan Beth Flora “went to heaven a-shoutin’” on the morning of Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was loving and loved by many and will be remembered for her endless warmth and enigmatic spirit. If you knew Susan, you have had her homemade cooking, and you were always better for it. She will be remembered for dancing on the beach, waiting for her kids on the front porch, or sitting on the breezeway with a book and a cup of coffee.
From sunbathing in the Greenbrier River in West Virginia in her youth, to hiking Mount Vesuvius in her 60s, she often quoted “I’ve lived hundreds of years” and never met a challenge or adventure she wouldn’t face. She made friends all over the world through her many travels who will greatly miss her.
She went on to be with her mother, Mary Mullens. She will be waiting with her hands on her hips and a tray of fresh baked rolls for her children Ross and Elli and their partners Brittany and Taylor, nieces Laura Salser and Hannah Scott, brothers Jay and Randy Mullens, sister Phyllis Mullens, Aunt Penny Sibold, Uncle Greg Sibold, and cousin MaryAnn Sibold. She also had many that she considered family and cherished greatly.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
